Blue Water Shipping strengthens its position on the Nordic transport market with its acquisition of the Swedish company ACi Transport & Spedition in Malmö

Desiring to gain an even better grip on the Swedish transport and logistics market, Blue Water recently opened its second office in Sweden - in the capital of Stockholm. Now, Blue Water is announcing its third office with the aquisition of ACi Transport & Spedition AB (ACi), which is known for its high quality client specific transport solutions.

"The positive attitude in the Malmö office and the wish to make a difference in a very competitive transport market, is very much in tune with the way we develop our business in Sweden. We are the client's freight forwarder, and distinguish ourselves by finding the best, individual and client specific solutions. Southern Sweden is an important business area, and we already have a large client portfolio in this region. Expanding with an office in Malmö which focuses on road, sea and air, is a logical step in the development of Blue Water's activities. The strong competences and expertise of the Malmö office have been built over years of working with freight forwarding and challenging projects, contributing to us being able to deliver comprehensive solutions", explains Björn E. Jensen, Manager of Blue Water's activities in Sweden.

ACi was founded in 1988 with offices in Gothenburg, Stockholm and Malmö. Today, the company has concentrated its activities in Malmö with a staff of eight. The company specialises in transport solutions to / from Europe with special focus on Germany, Benelux and Italy. One of Aci's special competences is project transports with select business partners offering customised solutions. For more than 20 Years, ACi belongs to the German Geuther - Group, which offers shipping, freight forwarding and stevedoring."

"Becoming part of the Blue Water group is very positive to us, and we look forward to the new, future possibilities. We gain power in a highly competitive market, as we are now able to offer an extended range of services. We are convinced that our clients and business partners alike will feel the positive effect. The fact that Blue Water Shipping and ACi value and emphasize personal service and commitment confirms to us that we made the right choice when becoming a part of this family", says Roberto Ecke, General Manager for ACi.

The acquisition stems from Blue Water's objective to expand company activities in the Nordic countries and will not only impact the development in Sweden. In recent years, Blue Water Sweden has been very active in promoting its position with transport solutions to and from all Nordic countries, and became IATA certified in 2013. Earlier this year, Blue Water acquired the Finnish company Wikeström og Krogius with three offices and almost 40 staff. Blue Water is represented in the Nordic countries with offices in Denmark (16), Sweden (3), Finland (4), Norway (2).

In Sweden, Blue Water Gothenburg was established on 1 January 2007, and in September this year opened its second office - in Stockholm. With the acquisition of ACi in Malmö, Blue Water now has 23 staff in Sweden. Clients are offered a wide range of diverse, high quality sea, air and road transports - based on comprehensive competences, expertise and unique, personal service.
